In 2009, American singer/songwriter Sam Phillips released a (digital) Christmas EP called Cold Dark Night (CDN). That featured six tracks, two originals and four covers of well-known carols. Now, ten years later, the singer (you might remember her as Katya in Die Hard With A Vengeance, or from her wonderful Americana album Cruel Inventions) released an expanded version of CDN, called Cold Dark Nights, with 4 extra songs. The title track and It Doesn't Feel Like Christmas stick out as great original tracks, and she pulled off a truly great version of Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) and a moving instrumental for that last day of the year.
