Santa's Beard, 3rd post

Okay, so first there was this post with covers of The Beach Boys' song Santa's Beard and then later on a They Might Be Giants Santa's Beard cover post too, and now ... now this third beard post is just a plain and simple post about Father Christmas's often discussed beard. Because sometimes that beard is just gross, too long, too short, too weird, too yellow, or even shaved off. Oh well, let's say it's a lively thing, so here we go.

An existential question underlies the first in this list, a ukulele-driven track from The Quaint & The Curious (2012): "Everybody seems to love Santa's beard. Why do they think mine is weird?"
Poor guy, he's just trying to spread a little Christmas cheer.

Another poor (and jealous) guy. Also from 2012, also ukelele: Lachlan MacLeod from Melbourne, Australia. He still can't grow a beard and is dying for a gnarly beard like Santa that make chicks go wild and can be seen from outer space.

Germany is a bit underrepresented here at CAGG, but that's about to change with Malaika-Alexa Koopmans. And how! Malaika describes herself as 'As pop as it can get'. And that pretty much sums it up. A cool, driving poppy track with an irresistible, repetitive whistle amidst all the tubular bells. Sadly, Malaika seems to have vanished from the face of the earth since then.

Oh noes! Santa Shaved His Beard! And now he's lookin' weird! Watch Reggie Run from New York is a special couple as it is formed by Dave and his son Luke who has autism. The father-son duo shares a love of music and has found it to be a great way of connecting despite Luke's limited communication skills. The result: a solid rocking, no-nonsense track. You go Luke! (Oh and they did a Christmas track this year too.)

The Nobility (Nashville's 53rd-best band) made a melodic track with fancy male Ho-Ho-Ho choirs. Rock and roll with a DIY feel, fierce and remarkable.

An ultra cool instrumental track with a touch of psychobilly and B-movie horror with distinctive guitar playing by Nick Danger from Topaz Collective

With the next one it's getting weird. Recorded by Beavue Cleavue from Florida for their album Sluggisha's Xmastravaganza. At first hearing, incoherent vocals over a rudimentary lo-fi DIY rock track, but along the way it sticks more than you thought.

Back to normal now. Although... 'The one's who dwell in Santa's Beard'? Well anyway, this strumming track from The Lumberyard from 2013 sounds full of love and sweetness.

Must Be Santa by TheClavhens is a distinguished pop-rock track from their 2023 album 'Beard That's Red White' with only covers on it. Must Be Santa is originally written by Hal Moore and Bill Fredericks in 1960. Well known covers that gained a little fame are those by Bob Dylan and Kurt Vile

Santa's Magic Beard by Oklahoma City based band Stardeath is about taking away the childrens beard fear. Done with more than enough sleigh bells and a humming synth in the background.

Santa's Beard Is Stuck In The Chimney. No wonder this punky track from Birthing Stirrups sounds more than a little edgy. What would you sound like when your beard is stuck somewhere?

Hey! This is what Santa's Beard from The Beach Boys was all about: Don't Go Pullin' on Santa Claus' Beard! Superb cheerful harmony Christmas singing by The Oak Ridge Boys from 2019.

And now we've finally arrived at the last in a long line of 'beard songs' and this holly jolly one is from Caleb Hawley. Nothing much to say about it, because after all, y'all know Santa's Just A Hippy With A Beard, right? And that's all folks.
