Soul and Christmas go together like holly and ivy, Joseph and Mary, sheep and donkeys, incense and myrrh. James Brown, Otis Redding, all the big Motown names in the past, they all made Christmas songs and albums. Nowadays, soulful artists still put chocolate in the Christmas pudding.
