A new and old carol

 And here it is, the annual Christmas music from Ryan O'Neal/Sleeping At Last, a singer-songwriter from Chicago. We wrote quite a bit about him in the past, look here. This year he rerecorded his older song 'Snow'. In his own words: "It features absolutely gorgeous strings by Sharon Gerber and Anya Gerber!! "Snow" has always meant a great deal to me. And this year, since the passing of my Mom, this song has taken on new and deeper meaning as my family and I try to celebrate our first Christmas without her."

As a second song he recorded a version from 'It Came Upon The Midnight Clear'  an American carol out of 1849. 
The song was also recordered by older singers like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Mahalia Jackson. But here is a more recent version, from 2010:
