Note the short notes!

"qoq is a band, a brand, and the spirit of a man."
Well, that's quite a way to position yourself. And rightly so, because this spirit of a man (Jarl Q. Sonkin) has made a pretty excellent Christmas track about 'that dastardly crotal hoarding villain in velvet himself, Jingle Bell Christopher'. And besides that, this qoq song is also at the front of the queue for the prize of the best intro of this year's Christmas singles; note the tambourine, the strings and the wonderful, slightly off-key, scratchy guitar. Great track.

Get ready for some country-esque singalong trucker weirdness from the boys of Da Wizards with Piss Jug Trucker Santa. Open your ears and let the magic envelop you, they say.

And there he is, Ro Halfhide, the Amsterdam based singer-songwriter and regular at the blog with his (almost) annual Christmas track. An eclectic one this time, with very hopeful lyrics and all the Christmassy stuff represented in it.

Next up is Dear Santa Claus by Rey Ivy Rose, a soft sung song that has a wonderful torch song vibe. Love the veiled sound of her voice. No further information on her unfortunately.

Self-proclaimed alt-country artist Podge Lane, representing Cork in Ireland, FINALLY releases his sleeper yacht rock infected Christmas EP. He recorded it in 1987 with session musicians, bonding over a small Christmas tree and an old piano. They also recorded a cover of Driving Home for Christmas, that wasn't even out as a proper single in 1987. This might all be nonsense, the EP surely isn't:

Titus Andronicus' version of The Little Drummer Boy combined with Billy Joel's Piano Man ('We're all in the mood for pa rum pa pum pum') was a small sensation in 2022. He now released a singalong friendly 'fireside remix', and an instrumental version. Still hilarious, still good:
