Old and new covers of 'Marie-Noël'

Klô Pelgag, aka Chloé Pelletier-Gagnon, hailing from a very small village rather than the big city, has gifted us with a cover of Robert Charlebois and Claude Gauthier's 1967 song, 'Marie-Noël'. Her soft voice and piano are perfect for this beautifully nostalgic Christmas song, bringing up memories of being children at Christmas. I can't help but enjoy hearing 'when the snow snows' ('quand la neige neige') and 'when my dreams dream' ('quand mes rêves rêvent') with the delightful pause between the last two words of both these lyrics.

Other artists have covered this classic, including heavyweights Isabelle Boulay, Emilie-Claire Barlow and the original lyricist of the song, Claude Gauthier. Newer artists, such as Elliot Maginot and Laurence Narbonne, have more playful versions to their credit, while Christianne Tassan et les Imposteures have their manouche jazz take on it. If you have a version that we need to know about, like some banging punk version, let us know in the comments!
