This song by the London folksinger Lisa Knapp came to me via BBC Radio 6. 'Cherry Tree Carol' has roots going back to the 9th century. At that time it was a tree full of dates. In the 15th century the tree changed into a cherry tree. Here are the first sentences of this recntly recorded old traditional:
